Hello! I am Angie Randall, founder of Jamarang Kennels.

My first Golden Retriever was given to me as a birthday present 53 years ago. Once you love a Golden it stays with you for life. The first Golden puppy I bred was Jamarang Xmas Angel, the only pup in her litter born to Ch Ribbonwood Ark Royal and Diogenes Nell Gwynne on 21st Dec 1995. Angel then produced nine puppies on 12 February 1998 after being mated to Aust Ch Diogenes Stacked Deck and my breeding programme took off!

Angie is based in Balwyn and lives with her husband Martin and son James (when he is not travelling the world!) Those who like word puzzles will soon see where the name Jamarang comes from. We are also proud to own a special bit of paradise comprising sixty acres in the beautiful Strathbogie Ranges. Needless to say all our Jamarang Goldens love the farm.

In 2001, I was lucky enough to meet two very special Golden people. Jill Pearson of Beaucroft Kennels and Carol Hobbelen from Acacian. Jill allowed me to use her stunning Ch Beaucroft The Brigadier (Brodie) to sire the next litter from Angel and this mating produced my Jamarang Queen of Sheba, the pup I chose to keep from the litter. Sheba was to prove more difficult to breed with, and on the third and last attempt we had her joined to Carol’s super dog, Ch Acacian Super Natural (Toby). This mating produced eight glorious puppies including Kandy, Rosie and Molly. These three gorgeous girls have all produced puppies after matings from Jill’s stunning stud, Ch Acacian Special Event (Diesel). Jill and Carol have since become very special friends and I will never be able to thank them enough for all their help and advice enabling me to achieve my childhood dream of having Golden puppies. Click on the beaucroft tag to see pictures of Diesel and Jimmy, and click on acacian to see pictures of Toby and Byron.

All Jamarang puppies are born inside and live in their whelping box for three to four weeks. Depending on the weather they spend time outside in the fresh air, coming back inside when necessary and to sleep. I encourage my buyers to visit from week one and as often as they wish (at least fortnightly) until the pups are eight weeks old. By this time I know my buyers very well, and I ensure they know how to look after their pup at home.

Buying a pup from me automatically enrols you in the Jamarang Club and my friends Dave and Kelly help me organise get-togethers usually every six months. These are great fun events where we compare the different pups and how they have developed.

Dave also writes a Jamarang newsletter featuring general advice and reminders, re vaccinations etc., and photos of all the Jamarangs. We also include articles and tips to help with the upbringing and care of our wonderful family of dogs. David & Kelly also do dog walking and pack socialisation sessions, and can help you find a training method that suits your dog.
